Cotton Insect and Mite Control with CAPTURE® 92.0EC Insecticide/Miticide

H.R. Mitchell and L.D. Hatfield

ABSTRACT

Capture® 2.0EC insecticide/miticide is in the latter stages of development for control of a broad spectrum of cotton insect and mite pests. Replicated field studies with Capture conducted throughout the mid-south and Texas during the 1987 growing season have resulted in excellent control of Heliothis spp., boll weevil and both twospotted and carmine spider mites. Capture performed equal to or better than many of the standard insecticides and miticides presently in use.

The ability to effectively control both cotton insect and spider mite pests should enable Capture to fit into any cotton pest management program. Thus, effective insect and mite control can be obtained by cotton producers without the need for tank mixes.
