ABSTRACT

KARATE 1E, a proprietary product being evaluated by ICI Americas, has been shown to be active against a broad spectrum of pests. KARATE insecticide can be used to give rapid knockdown of and/or residual protection against cotton insect pests. KARATE has shown activity on secondary cotton pests such as thrips, fleahoppers, plant bugs, spider mites, and aphids, as well as boll weevils and Heliothis spp., when used at rates of 0.0025 to 0.03 lb ai/A. Data presented will include the results from trials conducted during the 1984-1986 growing seasons in the Midsouth.
