Industry Outlook for New Ginning Technology

D.W. Van Doorn

ABSTRACT

Significant developments have occurred that will impact cotton ginning technology. Textile mills are demanding lint with qualities not now adequately represented by the "green card" that producers and ginners now use to rate the value of their lint. Computer technology combined with such developments as gin produced universal density bales will have profound effects on both the internal gin processing and gin involvement in electronic marketing systems.
