Optimum Use of Ginning, Technology

William Mayfield

ABSTRACT

Ginning can have a major influence on the market value and the utility of cotton. In order to maximize these factors, gins must be properly equipped and expertly operated. Even with modern gins equipped with state-of-the-art technology, a good ginner and/or gin manager with training and experience is still a critical link in improving the profitability and competitiveness of the U.S. cotton textile industry.
