Introduction of the Multisaw Lint Cleaner to the Ginning Industry

Russell Sutton and Larry Horn

ABSTRACT

The Multisaw Lint Cleaner was introduced in April 1984 and is the first major new development in cotton gin lint cleaners since 1955. The Multisaw Lint Cleaner combines the principles of two stages of conventional saw type lint cleaning into one machine. This lint cleaner is a control batt saw-type which transfers the fiber from the top saw to the bottom saw by a patented transfer arrangement. This process results in more cleaning area, a higher cleaning efficiency and less fiber loss than two conventional stages of lint cleaning.
