Multi-Commodity Education Program

2008 Plans

The National Cotton Council will formally invite National commodity organizations representing corn, wheat, oilseeds and small grains to select participants in September. Participants will include producers, key association staff and ag media.

Participants will travel to West Texas during November 9-14 to participate in a series of tours and informal meetings with local agricultural leaders. The agenda will include the following topics:

  • Cotton production & harvesting
  • Ag research
  • Textile research
  • Drip irrigation technology
  • Yarn & denim production
  • Cotton market
  • Livestock production
  • Wine production
  • Farm tours with individual producers
  • Cotton warehousing
  • Cottonseed processing

The Multi-Commodity Education Program will cover all participant expenses.
