ANNUAL REPORT OF THE JOURNAL OF COTTON SCIENCE

Authors: Gerald O. Myers, Editor-in-Chief
Pages: 67-67
Editorial Notes

Thirty-five manuscripts representing eight of nine disciplines were submitted in 2020. A summary of the action taken on these manuscripts by discipline is provided in Table 1. The acceptance rate for manuscripts for which a decision has been made is 57%. In 2020, 24 manuscripts were published in the Journal of Cotton Science. Distribution of published manuscripts by discipline was as follows: Agronomy and Soils – 6; Arthropod Management – 5; Breeding and Genetics – 4; and Engineering and Ginning – 9. One manuscript in Volume 2 (pages 81–86) was mistakenly included in the publishing of Volume 3 (pages 131–136). Notation has been added to Volume 3 acknowledging Volume 2 as the correct citation.
Using my prerogative, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for the support and guidance given to the Journal of Cotton Science by Dr. Bill Norman, former Executive Director/Secretary of The Cotton Foundation. Bill was a champion of the Journal and retired at the end of 2020. During his 14 years with the Journal, Bill helped oversee the publication of 4,857 pages of research that has benefited the producers, processors and consumers of cotton.
