ABSTRACT

The use of a 1D-3D cyclone to simultaneously collect trash and fine dust is believed to increase the emission concentration as compared to fine dust collection only. Tests were conducted using a small scale 1D-3D cyclone as a fine dust collector, simultaneous trash and fine dust collector, and using a baffle-type pre-separator to remove the trash prior to cyclone fine dust collection. This paper outlines the methodology used for the design of a baffle-type pre-separator, the testing procedures and results obtained from such tests.
