A TALE TO CONTROL MARE'S TAIL IN NO-TILL COTTON

James N. Lunsford

ABSTRACT

Consistent control of horseweed (Erigeron canadensis) was achieved in No-Till cotton production with late winter or early spring burndown applications of Gramoxone Extra at 2 pts/A plus Bladex at I Pt/A, or LV 2,4-D Ester at .5 pt/A, and or Harmony Extra at I oz/A. Burndown herbicide treatments need to be applied to horseweed no larger than 6 inches tall for consistent control. No carryover injury was observed to cotton planted into herbicide treatments.
