Capture^® 2 EC insecticide/miticide is a novel synthetic pyrethroid containing the active ingredient, bifenthrin (proposed common name). Discovered at FMC Corporation and now patented, this product has wide application as a broad spectrum insecticide miticide in many row crops including cotton. A temporary tolerance for use on cotton was granted in 1985 and a temporary tolerance for use on field corn is pending. A detailed status report of mammalian toxicology, environmental toxicology and environmental fate will be presented along with the registration objectives for Capture.
