ABSTRACT

Three large field trials were established on non-rank cotton, (max. ht. 43-45"). Varied rates and timings of Pix were applied with BASF self-propelled equipment. In addition, two CO2 trials were established but the Cooperative Extension Service using similar treatments. All rials were replicated four times. Statistical differences, using L.S.D. at the 5% level, were nonsignificant, in most of the tests, between Pix treatments. Yield increases were seen in four out of five trials when PIX was applied within label rates. half the labeled rate performed satisfactorily, at label timing, in these trial. Later applications and split application showed mixed results with the one pint rate being slightly more consistent than the 1/2 pint.
