ABSTRACT

A radio telemetry system was designed to allow remote, real-time monitoring of implement energy data collected using a tractor-mounted, microcomputer-based data acquisition system. In initial applications of the telemetry system, data obtained during field tests were transmitted as digital signals in ASCII format for display on a remote video monitor. The telemetry system was constructed using commercially available telephone modems and portable FM two-way radios.
