Trade Policy Issues

M. Dean Ethridge

ABSTRACT

Policy-makers' neglect of trade issues erodes U.S. leadership in an increasingly interdependent global economy. Trade policy is intricately related to monetary, fiscal, and foreign policies, with linkages being especially critical for basic commodities. Failure to comprehend this fosters protectionism and jeopardizes political stability.
