Beneficial Arthropod Species in Southwestern Desert Cotton Fields

In laboratory tests, C. vittatus consumed the highest number of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders), eggs followed by H. convergens, C. carnea, Nabis spp., Geocoris spp., and O. tristicolor.

Pink bollworm eggs were placed in cotton terminals in the field and 85, 63, and 35% of the eggs were consumed in July, August, and September, respectively.
