ABSTRACT

The Texas Agricultural Extension Service is participating in an Extension Service, USDA, lPM program evaluation. Seven hundred and seventy-two Texas producers in six geographical areas have been surveyed by telephone to determine their awareness, perception, and use of IPM tactics in cotton production. Producers were also asked to assess the value of various educational activities of the Agricultural Extension Service Cotton IPM Program. Survey results indicate many producers are consistently using and understand the value of a variety of insect management practices. Producers indicate that the program objectives of improving net profits, using pesticides in a biologically sound manner, and enhancing producer awareness of pest management principles are being met.
