Performance and Potential of F2 Hybrids

James M. Olvey

ABSTRACT

Completed three years of yield testing exclusive of three locations and evaluated numerous F1 to F4's, in direct comparison with the top commercial varieties in those locations. All F1's were produced via a selective male gametocide termed the CHEMBRED(TM) method. The F1 thru F4's were grow outs in a very low outcrossing area. Certain F2 hybrids have shown significant increases in seedling vigor, fiber properties and yield (10-24%).
