Development of a Moisture Sensor for Gin Use

Richard K. Byler

ABSTRACT

A new moisture measurement device for cotton which has been used experimentally in studies with the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) was redesigned to work in a cotton gin. The device was installed in the paddle portion of a paddle sampler that was being used to collect samples of lint or seed cotton for color and trash analyses. Data were collected at one gin and are currently being analyzed.
