Early Season Insect Control and Comparative Cotton Yields with Pydrin® Insecticide

R.H. Bierman

ABSTRACT

In 1984, PYDRIN® Insecticide was tested on cotton at seven locations with and without chlordimeform and applied at weekly intervals starting at either the fourth node or at the pinhead square stage. These early PYDRIN® treatments were compared to early chlordimeform treatments, early AZODRIN® Insecticide treatments, a boll weevil treatment, a routine, as needed, insecticide program, and an untreated check. Necessary maintenance insecticide applications; were made to all plots except the boll weevil and untreated plots. The data indicate that early season PYDRIN® applications significantly increased yields when compared to the other treatments.
