Practical Aspects of Maturity Measurements Using the Near-IR Spectroscopy Method

Subhas Ghosh

ABSTRACT

In this article a brief description of the historical development of near-IR maturity test method is provided. Some of the problems encountered in the transition from research laboratory to mill practice have also been discussed. These practical problems are not unusual, however, most often they are overlooked in the research laboratory since more attention is paid to the mechanism by which these measurements are made.
