Laboratory investigations and field tests at two commercial cotton gins have demonstrated the feasibility of using a wire-mesh belt conveyor to dry seed cotton. Drying performance information that describes the effectiveness of the belt drying concept is presented. Specific design criteria and operating information developed through analysis and practical experience are also presented.
