Effect of Nematicides Applied At-Plant and Post-Plant on Reniform Nematode in Cotton

W.S. Gazaway, Dru Rush and J.R. Akridge

ABSTRACT

Nematicides can be used to mananage reniform nematodes in cotton. Results of this 1993 test indicate that Temik 15G® (5-to 7 lb/a) applied in-the-furrow is as effective and as economical as banded applications. Post-plant Vydate® applications to Temik treated plots did not increase cotton yields. Banded applications of Temik over the center of the row, as in 5 previous tests, maintained reniform populations at a significantly lower level than other nematicides or application methods. Banded Temik applications did not yield better than the in-furrow applications, however.
