HVI Testing of American Pima Cotton

Paul W. Karban

ABSTRACT

The Cotton Division of the USDA has been involved with HVI testing for many years, however, HVI testing on American Pima cotton was first offered to growers for the 1990 season. Beginning with the 1993 classing season, manual classification for Pima was no longer an option and all American Pima production, beltwide, was measured across High Volume Instrument lines.
