Delta and Pine Land Company has announced the addition of two new cotton varieties, DP 5409 and DP 2156, to its 1994 product line. DP 5409 is a new early maturing, premium fiber cotton variety, particularly adapted to the Mid-South and the Rio Grande Valley. In test comparisons to Deltapine 50 across four years, DP 5409 has indicated similar lint yield, higher lint percent, higher fiber strength and lower micronaire.
