Acala GC-610 and Acala GC-702 Cotton - Varieties for the San Joaquin Valley

Joel F. Mahill

ABSTRACT

Germain's Cotton Division is announcing the release of two new Acala cotton varieties, GC-610 and GC-702, forproduction in the San Joaquin Valley, CA. In testing programs, potential new varieties are compared to the standard Acala GC-510. They are required to equal or exceed the standard in fiber quality for approval by the San Joaquin Valley Cotton Board (SJVCB). GC-510 was established as the SJV Standard in 1985 and has a history of consistent high yield potential, tolerance to Verticillium wilt, and superior fiber qualities.
