ABSTRACT
Five-day irrigation intervals in July with 42 mm water/irrigation consistently increased cotton lint yield by 5-11% compared to 15-day irrigation intervals with 130 mm of water/irrigation. The results were consistent each year of a three year study from 1989 to 1991. Cotton leaf temperatures, transpiration, and leaf water potentials were not significantly different between 5, 10 or 15-day irrigation intervals, except leaf water potentials for the 15-day interval irrigations were significantly lower in 1991 as compared to those for other irrigation frequencies.
