Low Rate Multiple Application of Bactec Bbrnan Bt+ Ovicide for Heliothis Control in Cotton - Second Year Results

E.M. Hood

ABSTRACT

Two years of large scale on-farm demonstration trials have illustrated the economic effectiveness of BACTEC BERNAN BT when used in a Low Rate Multiple Application (IRMA) manner as the "back-bone" of an Insect Pest Management Program. Insecticide costs for the grower have been lowered, lint yields have been increased and environmental or non-target side effects have been reduced. Tobacco budworms resistant to conventional synthetic organic insecticides (SOIs) have been brought under control with LRMAs of BACTEC BTs and insect control costs have been effectively managed.
