Mississippi Boll Weevil Management Program 1992 - Update

ABSTRACT

Mississippi cotton growers are cooperating in a statewide boll weevil program. During 1992 the grower run organization carried out an intensive boll weevil trapping program in order to obtain information on the populations of overwintered weevils throughout the state. Data on trap catches are linked to maps by a computer geographic information system (GIS) that allows special analysis. Information gained by this pre-eradication program should aid growers in making informed decisions about boll weevils in the future.
