Performance of Deltamethrin (Decis) in Cotton Against Aphid and Bollworm/Tobacco Budworm Populations

William P. Scott and Donnie A. Adains

ABSTRACT

Results of a large field plot study in 1992 indicated that Deltamethrin applied at 0.02 and 0.016 lb [AI]/acre was as effective as Cyfluthrin and Cyhalothrin applied at 0.033 lb [AI]/acre in controlling bollworm/tobacco budworm populations. The percent bollworm/tobacco budworm damaged squares did not exceed 1.6 with any treatment during the season. The highest yields were obtained with Deltamethrin, Cyfluthrin, and Cyhalothrin applied at 0.02, 0.033, and 0.033 lb [AI]/acre, respectively.
