Field trials conducted in Escambia County, Alabama since 1989 indicate that nematicides are a profitable alternative when treating cotton fields infested with high populations of reniform nematodes. Profitable returns resulted three out of four years of the trials. Telone II (3 gal/a) injected preplant and Temik 15G (10 lb/a) applied in a band over the row at planting were the most cost effective treatments, returning profits of $76/acre and $65/acre, respectively. |
