Response of Cotton Varieties to Reniform Nematodes

William S. Gazaway, Dru Rush, and Keith Edisten

ABSTRACT

Four cotton varieties in untreated plots produced yields comparable to those in nematicide treated plots in a field with heavy reniform nematode pressure. Tolerance rather than resistance is likely, because the varieties sustained higher than normal reniform populations. Three other varieties produced significant yield increases when treated with nematicides.
