Foliar Sure-K (Potassium Foliar Fertilizer)

J.L. Wilhm and G.V. Searles

ABSTRACT

Field trials were initiated in 1992 in seven fields in three states to evaluate the effects of foliar applications of Foliar Sure-K on petiole %K, lint yield and fiber quality of cotton. Foliar Sure-K is uniquely formulated with a nitrogen:phosphate:potash ratio of 3:1:2 which closely reflects that of cotton leaves and stems. Treated areas receiving foliar applications of Foliar Sure-K averaged 5.7% more lint per acre than untreated areas. All seven tests resulted in higher yields, while five of six tests resulted in higher %K in the petiole after two applications. Evaluations for fiber quality at one site indicated no significant treatment effect on micronaire and fiber strength and length.
