Row Cropper (30 Inch Row Operational Package and Guidance System)

John O. Moore

ABSTRACT

Based on our past four years of field experience and several thousand acres of narrow row cotton, it appears evident that the most efficient, the most productive and the best promise for earlier maturity is a narrow row, preshaped, stale bed approach.

Growers that are into stale beds, whether wide or narrow rows, have found that by preshaping, many problems associated with stale bed farming have been eliminated. Preshaped beds are not only always in plantable condition, but they warm up faster and are always more uniform in moisture, temperature and firmness. Preshaped beds offer an ideal environment for uniform, rapid seed germination and early plant growth.
