IRAC-Cotton-US Overview and its Role in Insecticide Resistance Management

J.H. Hope

ABSTRACT

The IRAC-Cotton-US activities as an advisory committee consist of recommending appropriate resistance management strategies to prolong the effective use of cotton insecticides and acaricides, closely interacting with non-industry researchers in the field of resistance management. To accomplish this goal, the committee will be developing standardized monitoring methods, monitoring susceptibility levels, supporting research, developing educational programs and providing technical information to resistance management decision makers. IRAC-Cotton-US is the U.S. subcommittee of IRAC Cotton, which reports to GIFAP. IRAC-Cotton-US currently has 15 members companies with cotton insecticide or acaricide products and other members representing the National Cotton Council, Cotton Incorporated and Pesticide Research Center (MSU).
