Irrigation Management of Pima B-6 Grown on 30- And 38- Inch Rows

Alfred P. Gonzalez, Naomi Assadian, and Charles Stichler

ABSTRACT

Irrigation management on narrow row (30 inch) Pima cotton production could be different from traditional 38 or 40 inch row spacing. The pressure bomb, irrigation water measurement, plant mapping (3 times during the season), and yield data collection did aid in getting a better handle on irrigation Scheduling and yield potential of Pima S-6 on a narrow row scheme versus traditional wide spacing. Due to and extremely wet year, the crop was plagued with Southwest Cotton Rust and Alternaria Leaf Spot so the accuracy of the results are less than desirable. The test will be run again in 1992.
