Much has been written in recent months concerning the need to improve production efficiency, that is, to produce more for less. The grower's first reaction might be, "How can I produce more and get it by spending less?" The fact is he can't. However, the technology is available to increase his production per land unit while decreasing the expenditures required per unit of cotton produced. Although this will require increasing the total dollar investment per acre, production would be increased sufficiently to substantially reduce the cost of each bale of cotton produced. One technology that shows promise is the use of Plant Bio-Regulators (PGR's) to manipulate the cotton plant, improving its efficiency of production and increasing the yields. One such product that shows promise is Burst Yield Booster, a plant bio-regulator product containing natural hormones of the cytokinin group. |
