EXP10100D: A New Fungicide for Cotton Seedling Disease Control

C. H. Baldwin, Jr.

ABSTRACT

From 1989-91 Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company evaluated both sprayable and granular formulations of ALIETTEO-ROVRAL® for cotton seedling disease control. The 1989 test results showed that both in-furrow application of the sprayable and granular formulation were equivalent or superior to commercial standards at 0.3 lb ai/A in both stand improvement and yield enhancement. The 1990 field evaluations demonstrated that the sprayable combination (TM) was equal or superior to the commercial standards at 0.3 to 0.6 lb ai/A. However, the 1990 granular formulation evaluated did not perform up to expectation being only equivalent to the standards at the 0.6 lb ai/A rate. Results from the 1991 field trials showed that EXPI0100D a new granular formulation enhanced disease control and yields at 1/2 to 1/4 the rate of the commercial standards. Yield responses demonstrated a positive rate response for both the sprayable and granular formulations with the granular formulation out performing the sprayable at 0.6 lb ai/A.
