Cytokin and Pix Interaction Increases Cotton Production

Jerry V. Mayeux

ABSTRACT

Four years of data indicate that cytokin and Pix can be used as an interactive tank mix to provide better plant growth regulation while improving fruit set and retention to increase yields and provide earlier maturity. Cytokin has been tested across the cotton belt to determine its effectiveness in promoting cotton (Gossypium spp) fruit retention. Extensive plant mapping on several varieties has shown that Cytokin can promote significant increases in boll retention at first and second nodal position on the fruiting branch and increase total boll retention. Increased first position fruit set and bottom and middle boll retention by Cytokin contribute to significantly larger cotton yields and earlier harvest.
