Improved Strength Measurements by the Integration of HVI and FMT Instruments

Geoffrey Wilde

ABSTRACT

"Differences in fibre strength as measured by traditional systems ie Stelometer and Pressley are compared with those from the HVI system. By the introduction of FMT values into the HVI line, significant improvements can be made. Integration of both Instruments should give the user a rapid and reliable tool for cotton selection and utilization".
