The Impact of Sweetpotato Whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, upon Cotton Quantity and Quality in California

G.R. Ballmer, N.C. Toscano, and C. Adams

ABSTRACT

Honeydew contamination of cotton lint is a function of several variables including density and within-plant distribution of whiteflies, ball location, and climatic conditions. The relationship of within-plant whitefly and open boll distributions to sugar content and stickiness of lint was investigated in the Palo Verde Valle during 1990.
