ABSTRACT
Populations of the cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii Glover, have been high in Arkansas cotton for the past 3 years. Populations have been difficult to control using the standard organophosphate insecticides such as Cygon, Bidrin, swat and Metasystox R. As a result, field tests were conducted to determine the most effective method to control aphids. As expected, the organophosphate and most pyrethroid insecticides did not give acceptable control. Capture and several pyrethroid plus organophosphate insecticide combinations gave adequate to excellent control of cotton aphids.
