M.L. Laster, E.A. Stadelbacher, and D.D. Hardee

ABSTRACT

Dispersal of Heliothis virescens backcross insects was studied during 1990 using inverted-cone traps on Australia Island in the Eagle Lake Area of Warren County, Mississippi. Marked insects were released at a central point and recaptured for a 30-day period beginning May 7, and extending to June 7, when no further marked insects were captured. The marked insects dispersed well from the release point to a distance of 4.2 km.
