An Inexpensive Device for Rapid Change, Application and Rinse of Tractor Applied Chemicals During Small Plot Efficacy Trials.

Jack T. Reed and Robert R. Grant

ABSTRACT

A modification of a commercially available spray header which allows rapid exchange and rinse of 1/2, 1, and 2 L plastic bottles commonly used for small plot insecticide application is described. When coupled with a rotating mount and fitted with compressed air and electric solenoid valves, the modification provides a tractor mounted system which allows small plots to be sprayed in sequence with rapid rinse of the spray container, boom and nozzles, and reduces the need for navigable alleys between plots.
