Reflections on the History of the Cotton Disease Council

ABSTRACT

The organization of the Cotton Disease Council and titles of the Disease Council meetings are reviewed. The various groups of scientists participating in reports and meetings, and the organizations with which the Disease Council has been associated are presented. The importance of the proceedings of the Disease Council, how these are published, and considerations relative to referencing in formation in the proceedings are discussed. Some highlights of research accomplishments by the Disease Council which were meaningful in controlling cotton diseases are mentioned.
