The Significance of Raw Cotton Color on Dyeing and Finishing

Tod A. Waldrop, C.D. Rogers and J.R. Aspland

ABSTRACT

The effect of the raw cotton color on the finished product has been a question for some time. The first step toward an answer was to determine if the raw color can be separated from the other visual properties, and if the color is being given a correct grade by normal observers. Also, included is a discussion of upcoming research into the effects of raw color on the end goods.
