ABSTRACT
Several fabrics, 100% cotton and 50% cotton/50% polyester, were evaluated to acquaint persons not familiar with the Kavabata KES System as to how such instruments are and might be used. Fabrics selected were from a group of fabrics currently circulating as a comparison test for Hand properties (by feel or touch alone). Instrument evaluations confirmed fabric variance especially with parameters indicating differences in fabric softness. However, differences could be attributed to variations in fabric weight. Fabric Hand can be engineered, blended fabrics can be comparable to natural fiber fabrics.
