Recent Developments in the Use of Dipel ES (Bacillus Thuringiensis Berliner) for Control of Heliothis Larvae in Cotton

Lowell V. Larson

ABSTRACT

Dipel ES is a highly-concentrated flowable formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki. Tests in 1986-87 an commercial usage in 1987-88 a owed that Dipel ES at 1.5 to 2.0 pts/A in combination with ovicidal rates of chlordimeform would give consistently effective control of early-season and lighter midseason levels of bollworms and budworms. Field trials were done in 1988 to evaluate new ovicides to tank-mix with Dipel ES. Results indicate that at least two candidates may fill the void when chlordimeform is removed from the market.
