A Review of Worldwide Insecticide Resistance Management Strategies Focusing on Heliothis Spp. And Spodoptera Spp. In Cotton

R.D. Schwehr

ABSTRACT

Resistance management strategies designed to prevent or delay resistance in Heliothis spp. or Spodoptera spp. on cotton have been implemented or are in the formative stages in several countries around the world. These strategies can generally be classified as either preventative or reactive. The strategy implemented in Australia to manage resistance in Heliothis armigera can be contrasted to the strategy designed in Egypt. These two strategies, along with others in practice or proposed, will be reviewed.
