Importance and Use of Seed Quality Measurements

Sonny Baskin

ABSTRACT

From t@e standpoint of one who plants and grows several cultivars and seed lots of cotton each year, it is essential 'hat I know of any inherent variances as to the quality D' those seed. I am interested in not only germination )tit also the seed's ability to exhibit active and healthy growth. After determination of seed germination and vigor, I schedule planting so that the weakest seed are planted last and therefore should encounter less adverse, weather conditions in which to grow.
