A pilot project to evaluate the performance of video type trashmeters is being carried out by the Cotton Division, AMS, USDA. Samples from each of the 20 Cotton Division Classing Offices are measured by trashmeters from two vendors and the non-lint content determined by the Shirley Analyzer. Data is analyzed to determine how well the trashmeter results compare with Shirley Analyzer non-lint content.
