Cotton Insect and Mite Control with Mite IE

J.F. Petta

ABSTRACT

Karate IE (PP321) was applied under an Experimental Use Permit to cotton across the cotton belt in 1987. Trials in South Texas, which included private consultant, university, and extension trials examined the control of certain insect and mite pests of cotton with Karate. Both large commercial and small test plot applications exhibited excellent control of the major pests including the tobacco budworm, cotton bollworm and the boll weevil. Some suppession of Tetranychus spp. and cotton aphids was observed.
